Bethany Elaine Norwood

Bethany grew up in the Dallas area of Texas. As a young girl, she knew that she wanted to be a singer, dancer, artist, author, illustrator, and teacher. She started dancing at a young age in the styles of ballet, tap, and jazz. She started drawing as early as she can remember, and continued pursuing art into college. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art for a month long pre-college program the summer before her senior year in high school and she was a Texas State Finalist in the Doodle 4 Google competition. She became more passionate about singing in high school and knew that one day she would like to pursue it as more than just a hobby. After high school, she attended Pratt Institute for a semester to major in painting. From New York, she moved to Michigan and became involved in ballroom dancing. She met her dance partner and began competing professionally, as well as teaching. She was a ballroom dance instructor for seven years, all while writing her own music and painting on the side. Throughout her years, she has taught art lessons to people of all ages and skillsets as well. In the past year, she shifted her career from being dance oriented to art and music oriented. She has been combining her love of art, music, and dance into a creative career since early adulthood.
